About Me
Born and raised in Anchorage, I knew I ultimately wanted to end up back in Alaska. After graduating from Northern Arizona University with Bachelor's in Science, my husband and I traveled north in search of opportunity and adventure.
After ten years in the geological exploration field, having two young children called for a change in lifestyle. As my daily life as a parent began to closely entwine my love of learning with the classroom setting, I felt a strong pull toward the teaching profession. Having spent two years as a tutor, and another two as a special education teacher's aide, my passion for teaching and empowering students through education has grown. Upon completing my Master's in the Art of Teaching at the University of Alaska Southeast, I will continue my journey as an educator, as I look forward to seeing our future embark on theirs. |
